Avail advised Evac on the acquisition of WatMan Engineering

Avail advised Evac on the acquisition of WatMan Engineering, a Finnish specialist in advanced water treatment solutions. The acquisition strengthens Evac’s fresh water offering and supports the growth of its watermaker business, particularly in the cruise segment.

Evac is a global leader in integrated water, waste and wastewater management solutions, as well as corrosion protection and marine growth prevention systems for the marine, offshore and land-based construction industries. Founded in 1979 and headquartered in Espoo, Finland, Evac operates through offices in 13 countries across four continents and a network of representatives in more than 70 countries worldwide.

Founded in 1995, WatMan Engineering is a Lahti-based provider of advanced water treatment systems for the marine, energy and industrial sectors. The company specialises particularly in desalination and reverse osmosis solutions and also provides filtration systems and other water treatment technologies. WatMan employs around 20 people, and its headquarters and production are located in Lahti.

The acquisition combines WatMan’s expertise in desalination and water treatment with Evac’s global reach and service network and further strengthens Evac’s capabilities in onboard fresh water generation. WatMan will continue to operate from Lahti under the WatMan brand.
